I am an American living in Switzerland for over 20 years, but living here and knowing the apartment rental market and processes are two very different things.
Rental process requirements and paperwork, local county rental laws, and landlord and building ownership contacts are essential to getting the property of your choice. I’m really grateful to Nicole for her help during my relocation to Belgium. She is a real professional and with her all the details of the moving will be taken into account, from registration to finding a good moving/cleaning company (as it was in my case) and cancel all the contracts in place in Switzerland. She has a perfect knowledge of the Swiss regulation and was very helpful in being sure that all contracts are resigned on time and avoid additional costs.

I moved to Zug from Ireland with my family. It was quite stressful to organize the move, find an apartment and fit into the local culture, especially with a teenager. Nicole helped us prepare the move, and gave us a lot of information beforehand. She has a deep understanding of the local market and gave us valuable advice on the documentations required to apply for an apartment. She is thoughtful and incredibly responsive. Not only did she help us find the perfect apartment but also reviewed the contract thoroughly and handled the handover process (which was surprisingly complex and new to us). She kept in touch with us and sent us local events regularly which my family really appreciated. To be honest, both my wife and I reached the conclusion that without Nicole we wouldn’t be able to find the perfect apartment for our family.
Having the services of Relocation+ was a big relief in the quite challenging time of moving internationally with my family. Mrs. Schenkelaars was really nice, helpful and patient, answering our never-ending questions and providing all the information needed for our integration. Starting with the garbage system, health insurance and ending with the paperwork for residence permits and driver license she made it all easier for us to understand and get things done. In regards to the real estate market, finding a place in Zurich / Zug is extremely challenging, but having the relocation service from Relocation+ everything seemed easier. We’ve got a really nice flat without stretching our budget and everything was possible because of Mrs. Schenkelaars. Her connections, the pieces of advice we received from her and her diligent work (sending rent applications late in the evenings, proposing to send rent applications even when she was on holidays, etc.) made it possible. The initial temporary accommodation period is usually quite difficult and stressful, but in our case we got the best possible option thanks to Mrs. Schenkelaars.
